The new Harry Potter game, Hogwarts Legacy, is now available to play on PC and consoles of the current generation, but unfortunately its release date on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch has been delayed.
Hogwarts Legacy is a great game and almost everything fans could ever want. Sure, it’s annoying that there’s no multiplayer or co-op, and it would have been nice to have Quidditch, but almost everything about the game is great from its visuals, story, and characters, to the sheer charm of wandering the iconic school from the Forbidden Section to the House rooms.
While everyone on current-gen platforms is able to enroll in the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry right now, PS4 and Xbox One players will need to wait a little longer while Nintendo Switch owners will have to wait until July.
When is Hogwarts Legacy coming to PS4 and Xbox?
Hogwarts Legacy release date on PS4 and Xbox One is April 4th.
The launch date confirmation above comes courtesy of the game’s official Instructions . As for why it lags behind on last-gen consoles, developers have simply posted on Hogwarts Twitter account that they ‘want to deliver the best possible gaming experience across all platforms’.
Although it’s disappointing, the good news is that it will hit older platforms relatively soon. It’s not like Gotham Knights as the game has been completely canceled for PS4 and Xbox One systems.
Nintendo switch release date
While Hogwarts Legacy will be released on PS4 and Xbox One on April 4, its release date on Nintendo Switch is July 25.
No reason was given for it to appear later on a Nintendo console. There is also no mention of the Switch version being a cloud product.
You can pre-order the game on PS4 and Xbox One for $59.99 / £59.99. Unfortunately, there is no way to pre-order a digital copy on the Nintendo eShop as of writing.
While Hogwarts Legacy is only available on next-gen consoles and PC at the moment, PS4 and Xbox One players can still link their WB Games account to Wizarding World for exclusive rewards when the game is finally released on last-gen platforms. .
PlayStation players can still participate in the Sony House Cup for digital avatars.
